📚 Hearth for iPhone
Log each lesson in seconds, see days and instructional hours fill up against your state's requirement, and export an attendance log or portfolio PDF the moment a district, evaluator, or umbrella school asks.
Most families start with a free printable attendance sheet and a folder of work. It works until the week records are due, when the folder turns into a reconstruction project. Hearth keeps the record as you go: date, hours, subject, what you covered, and a photo of the work. Every day with an entry is a school day. The totals build themselves.
Each state has its own page with the rule in plain terms, what to file, and the official source: see homeschool requirements by state, or go straight to Texas, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, North Carolina or Ohio.
Hearth covers all 50 states and the District of Columbia, each one checked against that state's own statute or department of education. Requirements vary widely: twenty states set an annual days or hours number, and the rest rely on notice, testing, or a portfolio instead. Here are the states with a statewide number, verified September 13, 2026:

Summary for convenience, not legal advice. Numbers come from state statutes and department of education pages; the full source list ships with the app. Laws change, so confirm with your state before relying on any figure.
If your state or umbrella school wants paper, download the free year-at-a-glance attendance record (PDF): twelve months by 31 days, monthly totals and a signature line. The app keeps the same record with one tap a day and exports it when the district asks.
How do I keep homeschool attendance records?
Log each lesson with its date, hours, and subject. Any day with an entry counts as a school day. Hearth totals days and hours for the school year and exports an attendance log PDF with a signature line.
What if my state has no hours requirement?
Set the target your evaluator, umbrella school, or district expects, or use the default of 180 days. Everything else works the same.
Can I track more than one student?
Yes. Add each student in Settings and switch between them with one tap. Reports export per student or for everyone.
Is it free?
Your first 14 entries are free. Hearth Pro unlocks unlimited entries, the attendance and portfolio PDFs, CSV export, and Face ID lock, as a one-time Lifetime purchase or a Yearly subscription.
