Given — Support

Given: Donation Tracker is a charitable giving log for iPhone. Record cash gifts, donated goods at fair-market value, and charitable miles as you give, then export one year-end summary PDF for your tax preparer.

Frequently asked questions

How do I log a donation?

Tap the + button on the Giving tab, choose Cash, Goods, or Mileage, pick the charity (or add a new one), enter the amount or value, and optionally snap the receipt. Any day, any year: use the date arrows or the quick chips.

How do I value donated goods?

On a Goods donation, tap "Add items from the value guide." It lists typical thrift-store prices for common items in good used condition; each tap adds the midpoint to your total, which you can adjust for brand and condition. The value guide is a starting point, not an IRS figure.

How does mileage work?

Enter the miles you drove in service of a charity. Given values them at the statutory charitable rate (14 cents per mile), which you can change in Settings if the law changes.

How do I get the year-end summary?

Summary tab → Create PDF. It groups every donation for the selected tax year by charity with dates, descriptions, values, receipt status, and photos, plus totals by type and notes about Form 8283 and written acknowledgments. Switch years with the chips on the Giving tab. PDF and CSV export are part of Given Pro.

Where do I add a charity's EIN or address?

Settings → Charities → tap the charity. Both are optional; the address is handy for Form 8283.

How do I restore a purchase?

Settings → Restore purchases. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple Account you bought Given Pro with.

Is my data private?

Everything stays on your iPhone. There is no account, no cloud, and no tracking. See the privacy policy.

Is this tax advice?

No. Given is a record-keeping aid. Whether and how much you can deduct depends on your return; confirm with IRS Publication 526 or your preparer.
