Given ("the app") is a charitable donation tracker for iPhone, made by Brian Kershner. It is designed so that your giving records stay on your device.
Your donation log — charities, dates, amounts, values, descriptions, receipts, photos, and any names you enter — is stored only in the app's local database and private storage on your iPhone. It is never uploaded, synced, or transmitted to us or anyone else. The app works fully offline and has no account system. Given does not use GPS, does not track your location, and never connects to the IRS, a bank, or tax software.
Camera and photo-library access are used only to attach photos of receipts or donated items to a donation. Images are resized and stored on-device only.
If you buy Given Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat, a purchase-management service, to validate purchases. RevenueCat receives a random anonymous identifier and your purchase history for this app — never your name or your donation records. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Given contains no analytics SDKs, no ads, and no tracking. We do not collect usage data.
PDF and CSV exports are created on your device and shared only where you choose to send them (print, email, AirDrop, etc.).
If you enable the app lock, authentication is handled entirely by iOS. Given never sees your biometric data.
The value guide and tax notes shown in the app are general record-keeping aids, not tax advice. Whether and how much you can deduct depends on your return; confirm with the IRS or your preparer.
Delete any donation in the app, use Settings → Delete all donations & photos, or simply delete the app — everything it stored goes with it.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address.
